Stromanthe ‘Triostar’

Stromanthe ‘Triostar’ layers green, cream, and soft pink across each leaf, with rich pink-to-burgundy tones beneath. Its upright, clumping foliage brings color and gentle movement to a bright interior without relying on flowers.

Plant Characteristics

• Variegated green, cream, and pink leaves with colorful undersides
• Upright, clumping evergreen foliage
• Leaf markings and fullness vary naturally between plants

Care Details

• Light: Bright, indirect light or dappled shade. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
• Water: Keep the mix evenly moist rather than dry, but let excess water drain. Overwatering can cause root or stem rot.
• Soil: Moisture-retentive, well-draining potting mix in a container with drainage.
• Humidity and warmth: Prefers warm, humid conditions. A humidifier or pebble tray can help in dry rooms; keep away from cold drafts.
• Upkeep: Watch for mealybugs, aphids, and spider mites.
• Pet note: NC State identifies this plant as pet-friendly, but any plant material can upset a pet’s stomach if eaten. Keep it out of reach if your pet chews foliage.

Styling & Placement

Place it where filtered light catches both sides of the leaves. A bright room away from harsh sun and drying vents lets the variegation take the lead; choose its display height based on the plant delivered.
